There are a number of ways to refine your search results.
To narrow down results, use quotation marks around search terms. Ex. “Dallas Cowboys”, “Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve”, “Brandenburg Elementary” will retrieve articles containing those three exact phrases only.
The Advanced Search can also be used to refine a search. In Advanced Search, the “Free Text (exact phrase) field does not require the use of quotation marks. If you want to exclude a term in your search results, enter that term under “Free Text (excluded exact phrase)”. You can filter your search by the original publication dates from this screen as well.
